Thorbjørnrud Hotel and Hadeland Glassverk 2021

Bring your team or society on a trip to Thorbjørnrud Hotel and Hadeland Glassverk.

On the way, we’ll stop by the Gamle Eidsfoss pub for a quick bite to eat.

The pub consists of multiple cosy lounges, which used to be apartments for workers at the ironworks.

We will then drive along Tyrifjorden (Lake Tyri) to Thorbjørnrud Hotel in Jevnaker, where we will receive a guided tour, including the brewery, the Director’s residence and the cheese factory.

Starting in the brewery, we will hear an introduction into what is brewed, a little on how beer is made, and information about the brewing process and the beer’s history. The group will then be taken on to the hotel’s main building, the former Director’s residence for Hadeland Glasseverk, to be told about the building’s history and the hotel’s activities as a local food producer. The tour will end in the cheese factory, where we will get to hear about the factory’s history and the cheese-making process.

Afterwards, we will continue to the Hadeland Glassverk for a tour. The glass works is the heart of the operations, and glass is still blown here in the same way as it was 255 years ago. Our guide will tell us all about the site’s fascinating history, which stretches all the way back to 1762!
