The Telemark Canal and Uppigard Natadal 2021

Bring your team or society on a trip to the Telemark Canal and Uppigard Natadal.

The first stop will be in Ulefoss, where we will board the MS Victoria for a tour of the locks.

Victoria, considered to be Telemark’s flagship, has the longest association with the canal and is known as the Canal Queen.

We will pass through multiple flights of locks, of which Vrangfoss is the largest and most elaborate in Telemark’s waterways. The construction work on Vrangfoss from 1887 and 1892 was extremely extensive and regulated 2 km of rapids flowing through the ravine-ridden and uneven depths into a dam and a canal.

Upon arrival at Lunde, the coach will be waiting to take us on to Uppigard Natadal via Bø, Seljord and Flatdal.

At Uppigard Natadal, you can experience traditional farming activities in fairytale surroundings. It also offers a generous dose of art and culture, self-produced food and a personal atmosphere for those seeking inspiration and peace of mind. We will get a humorous and informal talk about tradition and superstition, and on life on the farm now, followed by a large buffet lunch of hot food, desserts, coffee and cake. A trip to Uppigard Natadal is a journey into a utopian society.
